Practical help for your business

Make your business work smarter.

You have customers to serve, a team to support, and a business to run. Repeating the same tasks, chasing information, and keeping everything moving can take up your whole day.

We help you get that time back. We start by understanding what slows you down, then put AI and better software to work where they can make a real difference. That could mean less paperwork, easier follow-ups, or fewer steps between taking an order and getting paid.

The result is a business that’s easier to run, with more time to take care of customers and plan what comes next.

Let's talk about your business

Start with a conversation about your business.

Business experience. Practical technology help.

He understands what it takes to run a business.

When you are running a business, every technology decision affects your time, your people, and your budget. Scott Kemp brings more than three decades of business ownership and over 40 years of programming experience to those decisions.

He co-founded PenMetrics, Inc. in Corvallis in 1990, founded Knife Edge Software, and created the original RealFlight simulator. He has built products, led teams, and worked through the everyday challenges of owning a company.

Today, Scott helps business owners understand their options and choose a practical way forward. He leads the first conversation and guides the work, keeping the focus on what will help your business.

Software made for your business

Software that fits the way you work.

Does your team enter the same information twice? Chase updates across spreadsheets and email? Spend hours putting together reports that should be simple?

We build software that takes unnecessary steps out of your day. That might mean connecting the tools you already use, making information easier to find, or handling routine tasks automatically.

We start by looking at what you already have and where the work gets stuck. Then we recommend improvements that fit your team, your budget, and the way your business operates.

For Probe Software, Scott helped connect its software to electron microscopes so the software and equipment could work together.

Learn by doing

Four evenings. Practical skills to build on.

The planned four-evening course starts with getting comfortable using AI, then moves into guided projects for everyday business work. Projects include a website, documents and marketing materials, and a simple application for organizing information.

The plan also includes recordings for reviewing the lessons or learning at your own pace. Details will be confirmed when the course is ready.

  1. 01

    Find useful starting points

Identify everyday tasks where AI could save time, from drafting a message to organizing information.

  2. 02

    Practice with real projects

Follow guided examples and build something useful, such as a web page, a document, or a tool for keeping track of information.

  3. 03

    Know what to check

Learn how to spot mistakes, protect private information, and decide when your own judgment or experienced help is needed.

A business perspective on Scott’s work

Scott’s one of those rare people who actually knows the tech and how to make it work for a real business. Computers, software, the whole stack ... he’s fluent in all of it. But he doesn’t throw tools at you just because they’re shiny. He’s owned companies himself, so he knows the difference between something that solves an actual problem and something that just sounds impressive. That’s a harder skill than people think. One of the smartest people I know, honestly.

Help with the technology your business relies on

Get to the bottom of what is slowing you down.

Email stops working. Someone cannot sign in. Files are hard to find. The Wi-Fi keeps dropping. Small problems can interrupt the whole working day.

Scott looks at what is happening, explains the options in plain language, and helps put a practical fix in place. Because your computers, accounts, software, and network work together, he considers how a change will affect the rest of your business.
